Our story started in 1994 when Laura began her real estate career and earned "Rookie of the Year" award while Jeff was a successful mortgage lender. The birth of their first of 4 children came two years later and Jeff moved to the sales side of real estate while Laura stepped aside to manage the home and stay home with their children as their family grew. Jeff grew his business and in 2010 Laura rejoined Jeff and they formed "TeamFinke" and have steadily built a business on team work, collaboration and service to their clients that is unmatched. Determination and a strong work ethic enabled Jeff and Laura to work through tough market conditions in the 2008 and on era as buyers and sellers needed an agent(s) that listened and would work to meet the needs of their clients. Their vision and perseverance have given rise to incredible growth and has enabled them to serve the folks of the Champaign County area in countless ways. Ironically, the market we find ourselves in today, in 2021, has it's own set of challenges as we help sellers maximize their profits, strategizing terms and other key components to exceed their expectations even in a market that has experienced more than our typical appreciation in a year. For our buyer clients, education is also a key component to find the home they desire and strategize with them to craft an offer that enables the buyer to feel good, but also wins the heart of the seller in a competitive environment Jeff and Laura are true empty nesters now. After a few months during Covid when they all came home, they are all out of the house again. Their oldest son Michael, newly married to Lexi, plays professional basketball in Europe. Their second son is a recent United States Army West Point graduate and beginning his career post college in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Their third child Tim plays college basketball for Wright State and their daughter Ashley is a rising senior in college in Phoenix, AZ. She also works with TeamFinke helping her parents with various needs as they serve their clients. On a personal note, Jeff and Laura love to garden, do home projects and cook together. After a long day at work or weekends they have free you'll find Jeff smoking different kinds of meat and experimenting with new dishes. There isn't a plant Laura doesn't love so you'll find her playing in the dirt most days. In the winter she turns her attention inside and enjoys working with faux greenery. Jeff and Laura love to sit in their back yard with a glass of wine and enjoy their view. Quite honestly, they do most everything together. When you work with one, you work with the other, getting the best in their strength zones. Jeff and Laura feel honored to serve their friends and family and the countless individuals and families that are referred to them from former clients.
