While living in Washington I served on the City of Bremerton Planning Commission for five years, served on the Mayor's advisory committee for the allocation of Block Grant Funds and also served on the Board of Directors of the Bremerton Main Street Association. The level of education/schools available for our daughter, the arts and theaters for us, youth extracurricular activities, restaurants, health care, the attraction of outdoor activities for adults from biking to "senior" softball, and the ease of joining the community, made integrating into the Sarasota lifestyle effortless. Of course, the top rated white sand beaches were considered a bonus!
