About Cricket

Cricket Yee is a real estate investor who decided to become an agent when she realized she was talking about the housing market all day, every day. Some people have their passion in sculpture or music or saving the whales-- she loves real estate! Her background is actually in science. Graduating from UC Santa Cruz in geophysics, she left academia with an ability to think and problem solve, but had an itch for adventure. While applying to grad schools, she would travel. One place she visited was Los Angeles. She liked it and decided to return after her tour in Japan. And she did! All in all, she spent 7 years traveling to Asia, Europe, and Central America, funding her travels with work in show business, which she somehow fell into. As a member of SAG-AFTRA, she spent 10 years working on shows like Star Trek and Scrubs. It was a good life, but the science brain grew unsatisfied over time and looked for a new challenge. In the real estate mania of 2004-2005, a script supervisor turned to her and asked, "Do you want to take a real estate investment class with me?" She did, and she was hooked. In 2005, she got her broker's license, more as a challenge than a career choice. She began building a small portfolio of properties, both buying and selling properties as an investor. Some of these properties were rentals, so she gained a unique perspective on being both a buyer and a seller, a renter and a landlord. Over time, real estate became her life. Show business was very fun, but in 2007, she decided to become a full-time real estate agent. At the time, real estate was teetering at the very top, and agents were leaving the business by the thousands. She saw this as an opportunity. In another stroke of luck, she landed an assistant job with a high volume foreclosure agent, and when the foreclosures started raining from the sky in 2008, she got as much experience in a year as some agents get over an entire career. So when she finally went out on her own in 2010, she was more than ready.... Cricket has lived in the San Fernando Valley since 1996 and specializes in NoHo Arts, Valley Village, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Burbank and surrounding areas. Since the Pandemic and the Great Migration to homes with yards, she has become an expert in the West Valley as well -- Northridge, Winnetka, Chatsworth, Woodland Hills, Granada Hills and more. She also started her career in Los Feliz, so knows Silver Lake, Atwater Village, Eagle Rock, Glassell Park and Pasadena as well. And thanks to UCLA, she does brisk business in West LA, Westwood, Mar Vista and Santa Monica. Overall, she considers herself client-centric, so even if your area of interest is not on this list, she will do her best to help and guide you no matter what you are looking for.
