About Sandy

Sandy Short moved to Santa Fe in the summer of 2022, fulfilling her lifelong dream of living in the City Different. Sandy was born in Las Cruces, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design at New Mexico State University. She created Hand-Painted Gourds, designing, painting, and marketing her Southwestern designs on gourds. She sold her artwork at hundreds of juried arts and crafts shows throughout the west over the years. Sandy’s trips to Santa Fe inspired her art, and she knew she wanted to live there someday. But art wasn’t Sandy’s only interest. She was raised by two visionary Realtor entrepreneurs who developed the Telshor Hills subdivision in Las Cruces in the 1960s. She followed in her parents’ footsteps and decided to also become a Realtor. Sandy enjoys being a Realtor and helping buyers find their dream homes and helping sellers find just the right buyers. Sandy has had great experiences meeting and working with customers and making them feel at “home” with her easy-going personality. Sandy’s goal is to help people accomplish homeownership and to ensure current homeowners can find the buyer they need, when they need one. Sandy is enjoying meeting new people and exploring New Mexico. Sandy continues to sell her Hand-Painted Gourds to gift shops and galleries and through her website, handpaintedgourds.com. After 14 years of experience in real estate in Las Cruces, she now is a licensed Realtor in Santa Fe, where she also provides referrals to families looking for homes throughout the U.S. Sandy happily has made her home in Santa Fe with her two cats and Sunny, a large lab mix dog.
