About Carl

For the past 25 years, Carl has worked in real estate sales, marketing, investments, and property management. Since 2010, he has been based in Kona, Hawaii, and works with Coldwell Banker Island Properties, where he and Kurtis Becker formed the Hawaii Global Luxury Group, a multi-faceted team specializing in the acquisition and sales of real estate on the Big Island of Hawaii. Through a combination of their experience with Big Island home sales, vacation property acquisition & management, and their extensive network of construction & home renovation professionals, the team offers a unique, effective, and successful approach to Hawaii property transactions. Carl has a diverse background in technology, real estate, and related business ventures. After an aerospace engineering degree from the University of Colorado in 1987, Carl worked in the DC area with NASA and U.S. Defense agencies. In the mid-1990s, real estate interests led to co-founding a Colorado-based brokerage and investments in residential & commercial properties. After moving to Kailua-Kona, he worked with Clark Realty and the development of their vacation rental property management division, which was acquired by Coldwell Banker Island Vacations. Since joining Coldwell Banker in Kona, he has worked with a wide variety of clients from around the world and their residential and investment property transactions. His community-driven team is committed to excellence and shares the spirit of Aloha in every transaction. Carl and his wife Jenny have three children and recently welcomed their two granddaughters into the ‘ohana. Jenny, originally from Zimbabwe, and Carl enjoy traveling, outdoor sports, swimming, and paddleboarding along the Kona coast and are active with several Hawaii-based organizations and foundations.
