My Journey from Army Warrant Officer to Real Estate Professional in Port Ludlow, WA Hey there! I’m Ron Mountain, and I’m in beautiful Port Ludlow, WA. It’s a hidden gem along the Sound, with stunning views of Hood Canal, Ludlow Bay, and a ton of great hiking trails. My wife and I made the move here in 2020, and honestly, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. But my journey to Port Ludlow—and into real estate—has been anything but ordinary. From Army Warrant Officer to Fleet Manager Before I found my way into real estate, I spent a significant part of my life serving in the U.S. Army. I was a Warrant Officer, specializing in wheeled vehicle maintenance, which meant I was responsible for keeping all kinds of military vehicles in tip-top shape. That experience taught me a lot about problem-solving, leadership, and the importance of teamwork. After retiring from the Army, I didn’t stop serving. I transitioned into managing fleets for public transportation agencies, and most recently, I worked as a Fleet Manager in Bellingham, WA. It was a rewarding career, where I got to make a direct impact on the communities I served. Finding Home in Port Ludlow In 2020, my wife and I decided to make a change. We were drawn to Port Ludlow for its natural beauty, its peaceful vibe, and the fact that it’s close to both Kitsap and Clallam counties—perfect for day trips and exploring! Between the stunning views of the Sound, the serene Hood Canal, and the abundance of outdoor trails, I knew this was the place I wanted to plant roots. Why Real Estate? In many ways, my transition into real estate was a natural fit. After decades of helping others—whether it was keeping military vehicles running smoothly or managing large fleets for public agencies, I realized my true passion is in helping people find stability and fulfillment, especially when it comes to where they live. As someone with a deep respect for the military community, I’m especially passionate about helping active-duty military members and veterans find their dream homes. I understand the challenges that come with moving frequently, and I know how important it is to have a place to truly call home.
