Growing up in Marysville, Washington, my family and I would often travel to Seattle for celebrations-birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and weddings. Each time we drove over the Ship Canal Bridge, I would catch a glimpse of the skyline and dream about building a life in this vibrant city. My journey began in high school when I was working as a shoe specialist at the local JCPenney in the Marysville Town Center. After years of hard work and saving every penny, I purchased my first car, which became my ticket to exploring Seattle whenever I had time off. My dad gave me advice I still value today: "The best way to find your way around the city is to get lost in it and find your way back without GPS." Those explorations confirmed that Seattle was where I wanted to build my future. My career path took an important turn when I joined JPMorgan Chase Bank as a teller. This role taught me the valuable skill of KYC (Know Your Customer)-an approach that continues to serve me well today. As I built stronger relationships with colleagues and gained confidence, I was ready for a bigger change. Inspired by a KYGO concert in Kent (his song "This Town" with the lyric "Let's get out of this town" resonated deeply), I made the decision to transfer-not to Seattle yet, but to San Diego, seeking sunshine and new opportunities. Over four years in California, I progressed from teller to Lead Operations Specialist and eventually to Branch Assistant Manager. I built a "chosen family" of close friends, though being away from my actual family was challenging. When COVID hit, I decided to return to Washington-finally moving to Seattle, the city I'd dreamed about since childhood. Reconnecting in Seattle was initially difficult. I returned to banking as a Financial Wellness Consultant with KeyBank in Lower Queen Anne (Uptown), but soon began questioning if this was truly my desired career path. A conversation with my former JPMorgan Chase manager, who had transitioned into real estate with Compass, opened the door to a new industry that immediately felt right. Starting as an Office Administrator at Compass RE gave me valuable behind-the-scenes insights into successful property sales and client relationships. Creating marketing materials for top-performing realtors, I absorbed everything about effective property presentation and client communication. As I advanced to Agent Experience Coordinator, I gained expertise in transaction management and documentation-the essential elements that can make or break a real estate deal. Every form reviewed and marketing piece created strengthened the foundation for my future career. Later, at Coldwell Banker Bain as a Broker Support Specialist, I further developed my skills while supporting successful agents across the Bellevue and Mercer Island offices. Working alongside experienced professionals, I observed firsthand what exceptional client service entailed-and sometimes, what was lacking. That's when everything clicked: I could combine my small-town values of hard work, honesty, and personal connection with my accumulated knowledge of Seattle's real estate landscape. If I could successfully manage multiple broker transactions and create marketing strategies for others, why not do it for my own clients?
