Joan Shannon has been guiding Vermont buyers and sellers’ home since 2009. A strong advocate for home ownership, Joan is also a proven advocate for her clients – from first-time home buyers to seasoned property owners. With extensive market knowledge and dynamic negotiation skills, Joan is experienced with residential and multi-family investment property in Burlington and surrounding counties. You may even spot Joan riding her bike to show property in Burlington! Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman, Joan worked with her dear friend and business partner, Sandy Wynne of Wynne Associates. Sandy and Joan developed strong relationships with their clients and a reputation as dedicated professionals. When Sandy stepped back from real estate, Joan immediately chose to align her business with market leader Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman. The firm offers the highest level of professionalism, education, ethical standards, and marketing tools. Joan appreciates the shared commitment to community, as well as the broad and effective real estate marketing and technology that will benefit her clients. In addition to 10+ years as a real estate practitioner, Joan’s background in swimwear design, manufacturing, and sales add to her understanding of business development and marketing. Joan has been privileged to serve Burlington as a City Councilor. She takes satisfaction being part of a collaborative community, with shared values of assuring all our neighbors are cared for and have opportunities for meaningful employment, a healthy environment, publicly accessible recreation, quality education, and clean, safe, affordable, and fair housing. Joan lives in Burlington with her husband, Ken, their daughter, Julia, and their revolving door of foster and adopted dogs (12 and counting). While loving all of Vermont’s recreation opportunities, she especially enjoys cycling over driving. You’ll find her the happiest sailing and racing her Laser on Lake Champlain.
