I remember the day my grandmother told me, "Someday, you'll want to settle down." At the tender age of 19, I didn't believe her. I wanted to explore and experience the world! I left New York and began an unforgettable adventure in California. My first stop was San Francisco, then LA and Orange County, where I met my future spouse. His military career led us around the world. We changed homes over 20 times while raising and homeschooling four children. It was a lot of work, but a ton of fun! However, as it often goes with grandmothers, she was right! I did eventually yearn for a place to put down roots and ultimately settled into the Stafford/Fredericksburg area. The historic charm, beautiful scenery, and diversity of people make it easy to love living here.
