Naturally, her next stop was Los Angeles where she embarked on an acting career that brought her unmemorable roles on various 1990s sitcoms including Saved by the Bell, Blossom, and the teen drama 90210. She later transitioned to the casting world as co-owner of a production company where she successfully served as casting director for commercials, music videos, and films including the Oscar-nominated 127 Hours. In 2000--having visited Salt Lake City for years to see family--she made Utah her permanent home. Along the way, she sold newspaper and phone advertising, pharmaceuticals and floor coverings, and gathered numerous awards in the process. Besides her family, Rie's great loves are interior design, listening, and interacting with people and enjoying the beauty of the Wasatch Front.
