About Luis

Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Luis Santiago brings a rich background of engineering, business, and design expertise to the world of real estate. After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Luis embarked on a successful career in the oil and gas industry, spending five years in the U.S. Virgin Islands before making Houston, TX his home. With over 15 years in the sector, including nearly a decade as a Sales Manager, he honed his skills in negotiation, project management, and client relations. In 2018, Luis and his husband Mitchell, founded Maison de Campagne (MDC), Galveston County's premier home staging and design company. MDC has garnered national recognition and has won multiple awards for its innovative and thoughtful approach to staging and design. As Managing Director, Luis oversees the day-to-day operations, marketing strategies, and all the behind-the-scenes processes that ensure the company's success. His passion for organization, business negotiations, and client satisfaction have been key to MDC's growth. A proud Galveston resident since 2019, Luis has fully embraced the island's vibrant history and culture, calling himself an "islander by choice." His love for the community and its deep historical roots is reflected in both his personal and professional endeavors. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Luis uses his bilingual skills to connect with a diverse range of clients, offering personalized service that reflects their unique needs. Luis’ transition to real estate came naturally after years of preparing homes for sale through staging. As a licensed real estate agent and listing specialist, he leverages his background to help clients present their homes in the best light, maximizing value and appeal. His experience in the oil and gas industry, paired with his extensive knowledge of what buyers want, gives him a unique edge in the competitive real estate market. When he's not working, Luis enjoys historical fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy books, and is a passionate advocate for equality, inclusivity, and mental health awareness.
