“Superior Client Care is my Standard.” Amanda Schluens is a recent transplant to Washington County. Seeing the value in a more peaceful lifestyle, she left Houston with her family and settled in Chappell Hill where her country roots began. Amanda’s great grandparents called the rolling farmland their home many decades ago. While her husband was no stranger to the perks of small-town living, Amanda had been a big city girl most of her life. What finally enticed her family of five to depart the bright city lights and sometimes alluring amenities was the opportunity to own land, to lead a quieter life where her children could play freely outside, and enjoy the charm and community that Washington County is known for. Brenham ISD is commendable, which was a high priority for her to seek out for their three children after she herself attended incredible institutions in Houston: St. Cecilia Catholic School and St. Agnes Academy that led to her earning her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and then ultimately a master’s degree at the University of St. Thomas. With many ties to the city, the location of Washington County was another major advantage of moving. Just 35 miles to visit friends and family in Houston and its surrounding suburbs, Amanda found the best of both worlds!
