About Karen Married to Realtor Danny Hood. Karen and Danny have two children, ages 43 and 39. Karen was born in Detroit, Michigan and relocated to Columbia in August of 1982, after graduating from the University of Michigan. Karen is a Life Member of the Greater Columbia Association of REALTORS Circle of Excellence Over 39 years of Real Estate experience in the Columbia area - all in the same office! Karen and Danny were recognized as The #1 Coldwell Banker Team in the State of South Carolina for 4 consecutive years (2008 - 2011) during the worst recession that this area had seen for quite awhile ! Son, William DiMaggio, joined Karen and Danny in 2014 and the Hood Team was born! The Hood Team has consistently been recognized with "top team" awards for their company over the last several years! According to Real Trends, The Hood Team was again recognized as being in the top 1/2 of 1% of Real Estate Teams, Nationwide! The Hood Team has been a Dave Ramsey Endorsed Local Provider since 2010, now referred to as Ramsey Trusted! The Hood Team was voted as the #1 Real Estate Team by readers of The State Newspaper in 2023 and 2024 ! The Hood Team is a proud corporate sponsor of PAALS ( Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services). (A portion of every Hood Team closing is donated by The Hood Team to this worthwhile, non-profit organization.) Karen is a Notary Public, and has been since 1995. Karen has earned the CHMS designation making her a Certified Home Marketing Specialist. Karen is a graduate of the Interior Decorating Certificate Program offered through Midlands Technical College. Karen has been active on many committees for the Central Carolina Board of REALTORS. She has served on CCRA's Grievance Committee, Community Service Committee, Circle of Excellence Committee, served as Chairman of the Circle of Excellence Committee and as a Director on the Central Carolina Realtors Association Board of Directors. She received the PEP award for CCRA in 2007! Having served as her Church's Youth Coordinator for 9 years, a former Middle School Math teacher, and a Cub Scout leader, Karen has much knowledge to offer new transferees who have concerns regarding their children's adjustments to the Columbia area. Karen and Danny are currently active members of Union United Methodist Church. In addition to Karen's own relocation to this wonderful city, she and Danny have moved her whole family from the Detroit area! Karen has personal experience relocating Seniors, Retirees, 30-somethings making new career moves, from her own family! Danny, Karen and William desire to give the best service possible, adopting the slogan: "Customer Service is NOT a department, it's an Attitude".
