About Jacob

Jacob Klarman was born in Walnut Creek, California. His family made the move to Aiken, SC in 1995, about 31 years ago. Jake literally grew up in the real estate business…it runs in both sides of his family! Mentored by his grandparents, Mark and Pam Thompson and his mother, Michelle, Jake is now the sole owner of Coldwell Banker Best Life Realty. Jake credits his grandmother, Pam, greatly in her leadership of him, and the whole family, to get into the real estate business. She taught everyone the ropes and was a Realtor Emeritus after having over 45 continuous years in the real estate business. Her unexpected passing in 2022 left the family shaken but resolved to carry on this venture in her legacy as the plans were already in the works when she passed. Jake’s been trained by some of the best agents in the business, and it shows. Jake has increased sales, production, and properties under management every year since becoming licensed in 2014 and is now the Broker-in-Charge and Owner of his brokerage. With a college background in psychology and business with a focus on finance, his formal education and over 11 years’ experience serve him well in real estate. Jake married his beautiful wife, Kayla in 2018. Like many in Aiken, Jake and Kayla are animal lovers, with two Boxer dogs and a cat. Kayla and Jake purchased and renovated a home together in Aiken Estates initially but now enjoy living in The Vale. Real estate doesn’t leave much time for hobbies, but when he gets the chance, Jake loves playing golf on Aiken’s fabulous courses and is a member at Woodside Country Club where he is the 2025 Open Club Champion and 2025 MGA Cup Champion. He and Kayla also enjoy checking out Aiken’s restaurants – from the finest dining to the best local dives. An Aiken Association of Realtors’ Realtor of the Year nominee in 2020, 2023, 2025, Jake loves working with all kinds of people, from first time buyers to seasoned investors who buy flips or rental investment properties. Over the years he has grown his Property Management business to great heights, serving over 80 clients managing their rental investment properties which now number over 100. Understanding the importance of the investment, Jake is thoughtful and has become an expert on many areas of real estate over the years and guides his clients well. This even keeled, conservative young man has values forged by a strong family structure, and his personal moral code. Jake is also an active member of his church, serving as a Deacon from 2022-2025. Dedicated to taking care of his clients, Jake treats them in a professional manner and looks out for their best interests. Understanding the importance of contributing to his industry, Jake served as the Aiken Association of Realtors’ 2023 President of the Board of Directors and served on several committees.
