A recipient of numerous achievement awards from both the Harrisburg and Pennsylvania State Realtor associations including Realtor of the Year & the PAR Excellence award, Smolizer is well-known as a strong leader and innovator in his chosen field. He is also the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the West Shore YMCA for many years and sat on the board of Directors for the Upper Dauphin County brand of the YMCA.
