About Jerry

Jerry Baker was born in Pendleton in the late 50's, and grew up on the Bar M Ranch up the Umatilla River. Jerry went to school in Athena and graduated from Weston-McEwen High School in 1978. Jerry attended BMCC for 2 years, then went to OSU for 2 years. He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Business and a minor in Forestry. Jerry continued to work at the Bar M, but returned to BMCC to further his education in 1987. It was here he met his wife Elsa who is from Mazatlan in Mexico. They were married in 1990 and have raised 2 children, Jimmy and Melina. Jerry left the Bar M in 2000 and moved to Athena. For 15 years he worked fulltime as a Wildlife Biologist for Western Ecosystems and now does that on a parttime basis and works as a real estate agent full time. Jerry serves on 2 budget committees including the City of Athena and the Port of Umatilla. He is also the Chairman of the Umatilla county Wolf Depredation Committee. He loves to spend time with his family and to fish. Jerry studied Spanish at BMCC. Jerry became a licensed real estate agent in 2015.
