About Charles

A native North Carolinian and longtime New Yorker, Charles Holmes brings the graciousness of a true Southern gentleman to his accomplished real estate career. After thirty years at Oppenheimer & Co., where he managed the Global Equities division with more than 300 employees in the United States, London, Tel Aviv, and Hong Kong, Charles went on to work at GenSpring, a multi-family office and division of SunTrust Private Wealth Management. Over his distinguished career, he has built strong relationships with principals at private equity firms and hedge funds, as well as prominent trusts and estates attorneys, accountants, and art advisors. Specializing in Manhattan co-ops, condos, townhouses, and new development sales, Charles stays ahead of the curve on the city’s newest residential offerings. He is “price blind” in his approach — treating every transaction, whether large or small, with the same level of attention, dedication, and care. Having lived in New York for more than twenty-five years, Charles raised two daughters on the Upper East Side and has also called the Upper West Side, Central Park South, and now Murray Hill home. His deep appreciation for the city extends to all its neighborhoods, and he keeps himself constantly informed about each one. Actively engaged in philanthropic and non-profit work, Charles serves as a trustee for the Hope Funds for Cancer Research in Newport, St. Bartholomew's Conservancy, which preserves one of the great sacred sites on Park Avenue, and Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
