About Alison

Having been on both sides of the closing table many times herself, Alison is keenly aware that a real estate transaction has the potential to be a stressful and, at times, emotional situation. Her goal is to help ensure the smoothest possible transaction for her clients by maintaining an open line of communication throughout the process. Alison’s background, prior to becoming an agent, includes decades of experience in the valuation of real estate, as both a residential and commercial appraiser. With a shared passion for older homes, she and her husband have purchased, managed, sold, and spent countless hours breathing life back into several 100+ year old homes. She holds a BA in Fine Art from Colorado College and an MFA from the University of Washington, Seattle. She remains active in the arts and maintains a studio in her home. With several big moves under her belt, Alison has proudly called Maplewood home since 2011. She recalls her own wish list when looking for a new place to land: a charming town with a heart and soul; a vibrant, diverse and engaged community; good public schools; a train station; a walkable lifestyle. “These are the things that were most important to me. They encourage genuine interaction between people, which promotes connection and community. I wanted a place that would afford my kids a sense of independence and access. I didn’t want them to experience their environment through a car window.” As a working artist, she also hoped to find a community that valued and celebrated the arts. Maplewood, she said, “just felt like a home run to us.”
