For more than four decades, Portsmouth, NH has been home—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Since 1984, I’ve watched this wonderful city change, grow, and somehow continue to feel like home. My little place on Sagamore Avenue has affectionately earned the nickname “The Happiest House in Portsmouth.” I like to think it’s because there’s always a little something going on: water bowls out for thirsty neighborhood dogs, cheerful decorations for every holiday imaginable, and a general belief that life is better when you add a little color, kindness, and fun. If you’re walking by and see a house dressed up for the season, a dog stopping for a drink, or something that makes you smile for no particular reason—you’ve probably found me. After all these years, I’m still happily making my little corner of Portsmouth a place where people, dogs, and holidays are always welcome.
