About Erika

Erika Smith grew up in the Upper Valley immersed in the family business, William Smith Auctioneer and Appraisers, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for antiques, people, and community. With over 21 years of professional experience, Erika brings deep industry knowledge and a natural ability to connect with clients. After attending college in Maine, she opened her own restaurant, Maxfield’s at the Gallery, blending her entrepreneurial spirit with her love of hospitality. Her career path then took an adventurous turn into the outdoor industry, working with Tecnica Ski before transitioning into a marketing role with Dolomite Hiking. Erika also spent time in Vail managing an animal shelter—an especially meaningful chapter for someone who grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses. She continues that passion today with her German Shepherd, Tuck, and Riley, her sweet rescue Border Collie mix. Erika is licensed in both Vermont and New Hampshire and is an active member of the Plainfield Town Hall Preservation Committee, reflecting her long-standing commitment to history, preservation, and community involvement. A devoted mother, she was a familiar face on every soccer field during her son’s years at Kimball Union Academy. Erika enjoys soccer, collecting antiques, and traveling, with Italy being her favorite destination so far. Growing up in the auction industry gave her an ease with people and an ability to build lasting relationships. Today, real estate has expanded her circle of friends while offering the flexibility to stay present for what matters most—family, community, and the pursuits she loves.
