About Walt

Born in sunny San Diego, California, Walt grew up as part of a military family, which meant achildhood filled with adventure and travel, moving from California to Texas to Missouri toGermany to Kansas, and then settling in the Kansas City area ahead of college. Walt pursuedhigher education at Kansas State University and Missouri State University, which laid thefoundation for a multifaceted career.<br> Over the years, Walt has worn many hats. Starting as a Recreational Therapist and SubstanceAbuse Counselor, Walt dedicated early career efforts to helping individuals navigate thechallenges of self-destructive behavior and rediscover joy. Later, Walt transitioned into roles as anursing home consultant, the owner of a chain of dry cleaners, and a fly-fishing guide andinstructor—a passion that earned the nickname "Missouri Trout Hunter" during nearly 18 yearson the water.<br> Walt also gained experience in retail management for Outdoor Recreation stores Academy Sports+ Outdoors, Moosejaw Mountaineering, and Bass Pro Shops. Additionally, he became somethingof a handyman while managing his own rental properties, tackling repairs and maintenance witha hands-on approach, which led to a few years in the insurance and roofing/storm damagerestoration industries. Walt made the move into the real estate business in 2024, most recentlyjoining Coldwell Banker as a REALTOR®, a company with an unmatched reputation.<br> Through it all, a love for fly-fishing and the great outdoors has remained constant, along with adeep appreciation for the culinary arts. Whether casting a line in a quiet Missouri stream, diggingthe garden, or experimenting in the kitchen, Walt finds joy in simple, meaningful moments. Andwhen not outdoors or cooking, Walt cherishes time with family.
