Under her guidance, this division successfully transformed historic buildings into over 2,000 subsidized apartments spanning from Maine to North Carolina. This achievement underscores Susan's visionary leadership and her ability to execute large-scale projects while maintaining a commitment to quality and historical preservation. Harvard University Housing Affiliation Susan then joined Harvard University Housing, transitioning to a pivotal role where she oversaw the management, development, and housing policies for Graduate Student and Faculty housing at Harvard University. During her time there, Susan played a crucial role in expanding Graduate student housing by overseeing the addition of 1,500 new beds between 1999 and 2008, achieved through a combination of new construction projects and the expansion of existing housing facilities. Recognizing the importance of supporting the recruitment and retention of faculty members, Susan took the initiative to establish the Harvard University Faculty Real Estate Department. Under her leadership, this department facilitated the development of Faculty condos, sold at below-market prices, and implemented concierge housing services aimed at enhancing the experience of faculty and staff. This involved forging a strategic partnership with Coldwell Banker Realty to provide comprehensive buying and selling services. Even after retiring from Harvard University Housing, Susan remained committed to assisting Harvard faculty members. She offered personalized concierge services to recruits and existing faculty, providing support in various aspects such as financing, location selection, school data analysis, pre-approval processes, and acting as a liaison to real estate agents. Susan's dedication and expertise ensured that 30-40 senior-level recruited faculty and staff received top-notch housing assistance each year.
