Janel Harrison brings decades of real estate knowledge and a lifelong connection to the industry to her clients at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group. Originally licensed in 1995 and working full-time in real estate since 2014, Janel combines experience, local insight, and a deep understanding of the housing market to guide buyers and sellers throughout the Bloomington-Normal area and surrounding communities. Real estate has truly been part of Janel’s life from the very beginning. She grew up in a family deeply rooted in the industry—her father spent 49 years with Coldwell Banker and more than 40 years as a custom home builder before retiring in 2025. With real estate conversations often filling the dinner table, Janel developed an early appreciation for homes, construction, and the client relationships that define the business. Before transitioning to real estate full time, Janel spent 18 years with a large insurance company, where she worked extensively with homeowner claims. That experience provided valuable insight into home construction, maintenance, and repairs—knowledge she now uses to help her clients make informed decisions. A Bloomington-Normal native and graduate of Illinois State University, Janel has an in-depth understanding of the local market and the unique qualities that make each neighborhood special. She works with a wide range of clients—from first-time buyers and new construction clients to those navigating estates or downsizing—and is known for guiding clients confidently through every stage of the process. Janel prides herself on being a true “one-stop” resource. From advising on improvements before listing and coordinating staging to connecting clients with trusted service providers for everything from painting to moving, she is dedicated to making every transaction as smooth as possible.
