It was originally part of the Seigler's property and later purchased by George Neer and his wife from them in the 1920s or 30s. However, the Neers eventually sold the property to Herman Gornto on July 23, 1938, who married Ruth Miller just a few months later on September 3, 1938. When the Gorntos first moved in, the house was just a shell, and they had to divide it into rooms themselves.
