I first moved to Sonoma County nearly 40 years ago to study interior design at Santa Rosa Junior College. There, I learned the intricacies of making a house a home, from feng shui to spiral staircases. I fell in love with the area, frequenting the county's wonderful eateries while meeting local wine-makers and chefs. Throughout the years, I watched as boutique wineries grew into national wine enterprises. These wineries and gourmet restaurants made the area what it is today. How I Got Here I've had several reinventions throughout my life, which helped me gain the knowledge and experience needed to be a Sonoma County realtor. Designer & Carpenter Directly after college, I worked alongside a master carpenter, designing furniture, building staircases, and renovating the historic homes that dot Sonoma County and surrounding areas. I was quickly enamored with these extraordinary neighborhoods and waited for the day I would own a historic home myself. Renovator Whether redoing kitchen tile or knocking out walls to create a more inviting dining room, I relished every opportunity to improve the restaurants I owned. This work translated to my houses, spending my spare time renovating an Italian Worker's Cottage and a Queen Anne Victorian. From repairing the foundation to installing lighting fixtures, I always desired to create a comfortable space while keeping the home's integrity in mind. Restaurateur The area is known for inspiring food lovers, and I am one of them. After spending years in carpentry, I opened five local restaurants. I also operated a full-service catering company, where my team and I toured wine country's top venues and visited local homes. I even hosted two cooking shows on local media networks. Commercial Real Estate Agent Moving from owning restaurants to selling them was a smooth transition. My first venture into the real estate world was working at a small commercial real estate firm specializing in restaurant sales.
