Community Involvement Arax has been involved in her community and church with a variety of charitable organizations. Personal Background Arax was born in Iran of Armenian heritage where she graduated from the University of Isfahan with a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts. She went on to teach mathematics, science and physical education in high school before moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1978. Arax has worked with a number of non-profit organizations that built affordable homes. She has raised a son, Martin Khodabakhshian, who has achieved international acclaim as a producer and director with ESPN. She has resided in Fair Oaks, California for the past 20 years. Communities I Serve Arax serves the entire Greater Sacramento Valley community including Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, and El Dorado Counties. She is conversant in English, Armenian and Farsi.
