I know why so many people are moving here…it’s easy to fall in love with the beauty, history and southern traditions of Wilmington. As a local Wilmingtonian, I have deep connections and an intimate knowledge of the Cape Fear region. I’ve seen Wilmington grow from a sleepy little beach town to a booming port city. I grew up in the Monkey Junction area and spent a lot of my early years at Wrightsville & Carolina Beach before they were truly discovered. The downtown area is dear to my heart as I love the history and understand where it’s been and where it’s headed. I now live in the Leland Area (L.A. as we like to call it) with my Realtor wife, Laura Mathis, and two amazing daughters. Leland is just over the Cape Fear River in North Brunswick County and is only 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington. Moving there was against my better judgment, as I remember Leland as an undeveloped unappealing area, however, this former ugly duckling has become a beautiful town filled with lovely planned communities, golf courses, medical facilities and restaurants. In fact, Brunswick County is booming with new developments attracting homeowners, from young singles & families to active retirees from across the country! I have additional knowledge of new construction as I’m a licensed general contractor having built custom homes. I also have experience as an investor flipping fixer uppers. I help buyers and sellers in every capacity from primary homes, to beach property, as well as all types of investment property and land.
