Why the Tampa Bay Area is the Best Place to Live

Why the Tampa Bay Area is the Best Place to Live

Thirty-two years ago, I was recruited from Oklahoma and played soccer at the University of South Florida. Since then, I've visited forty-six states. I often tell people Florida is by far the preferred state to live. No state income tax, no shoveling snow, sunshine virtually every day year round. Having said that, the Tampa Bay area is the only place I'd want to actually call home.

Miami/Ft Lauderdale is 12 miles wide, go 13 and you're in the swamps. Orlando is a hot, sticky crowded mess. But Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater has THE best and most convenient airport. Four professional sports teams in the Lightning, Buccaneers, Rays and Rowdies, and a burgeoning NCAA school in USF give sports fans year round entertainment. You want to go to the beach? Check! Busch Gardens? Check! Over 100 miles of workout trails! Boating? Fresh water or salt? Check! Eclectic nightlife in downtown St Petersburg! Historical landmarks in Ybor City! And wonderfully growing suburbs of larger and newer homes surrounding the area.

Many times you have a choice of where you want to call home, and the Tampa Bay area has just about anything and everything that would interest you. I know my experience of living across the area in the last three plus decades will help you find the exact place best for you!
