Chris is the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. He has represented us three times, in the purchase of three very different properties, in three different counties. His advice has always focused on what was best for us as individuals and buyers, regardless of whether it brought us closer or further away from finalizing the deal. He was generous with his time and has showed us countless other properties that we didn't follow through on, patient, knowing that we'd make a move when the time and the property was right. He has consistently provided an informed and valuable perspective on the many issues that arise when buying a home. When the time comes for us to buy or sell another property, we will without a doubt call Chris again
Chris has helped us sell two homes--a higher-end condo we'd been unable to sell (by owner or with another realtor) and a custom home we'd built and then outgrown. In addition, he helped us find and purchase the needle-in-a-haystack property we'd been hoping for and are now living in very happily. Chris is professional, knowledgeable, personable and realistic. He helped make sure we received fair prices in a tough market for the two properties we sold and that we didn't overpay for our current home, which required significant renovations. He even helped us research the feasibility of our major addition prior to purchase so we would know what we were getting ourselves into in buying our beloved "fixer upper." He knows his stuff, and anything he doesn't know, he knows where to ask. We thoroughly trust him and don't hesitate in recommending him to family and friends.
Chris and his colleague Claire took my first home-buying journey with me. They showed care, patience, responsiveness and encouragement. When I ran into some trouble with my mortgage broker, they were quick to step in and also to think through alternative options. Chris served as a fun and steady guide to this very important and sometimes stressful journey. I have and will recommend him to others
It was a pleasure working with Chris von Trapp and his assistants. He helped me navigate through a very uncertain process and gave me clear, goal oriented instructions to get the house sold. I acted on behalf of my relative, in selling the house, and I live half way across the country, but I never felt uncertain or insecure about any situation that we encountered. This was all due to Chris' consistent communication. Again, I cannot say enough good things about his team. He definitely understands how to find the right people to assist with every aspect of the selling process. We received a very fair price for the house and the closing went very smoothly
Chris did a fabulous job. Living in Chicago and selling a place in Vermont should be difficult. Chris made it easy! His team did a great job wrapping up all the details for an easy sale.
Chris is one of the best realtors we've ever dealt with. He's extremely knowledgeable about the VT market and its value. He's diligent, honest, patient & hard working. We've worked with him for the past 7 years trying to find the right property for us, and during that time we conducted several transactions including offers & purchasing a lot. Even though we were living out of state while , he was very responsive to our questions and needs and always made time for us, whether it was on the phone or in person.
Selling our home was a breeze with Chris and his team, the process was handled efficiently and professionally. He answered all our questions and provided us with helpful guidance throughout the entire sale.
Chris's expertise and hard work made selling our house a breeze. The listing was really comprehensive and well-written, pricing was on point, and his photography showed our house at its best. We had 18 showings in the first 3 days of the house being on the market, and we sold it in 5 days. Communication throughout the process was incredibly smooth and thorough. Overall, we felt a lot of trust and confidence in Chris, and it paid off. We are so glad that we chose him to be our realtor!
We had actually considered selling our home ourselves but instead listed with Chris, and I'm so happy we did. He worked tirelessly for us and definitely looked at the big picture, going above and beyond what we expected to seal the deal on our sale. He helped us digest and negotiate on a difficult inspection, showed up bright and early the day before our walk through to make sure everything was copacetic, and provided invaluable guidance and perspective throughout the process. He is a total pro and a pleasure to work with
Chris helped us with a search that was both challenging and time-limited, with the utmost of preparation and consideration. With his depth of experience, he was quick to address questions, very practical and seasoned in assessing the benefits and potential issues with each prospective property, with excellent guidance to get us under contract, not to mention a pleasure to work with. His assistant organized the steps of the of the contract process very efficiently, keeping multiple schedules on track. We would recommend Chris and his team very highly
Chris helped us find a camp on Lake Champlain six years ago and helped me sell one for an estate last fall. Both times the process stretched on for more than one season -- in the first instance because we were picky buyers and in the second because the market was bad. Chris was patient, honest and good-humored throughout. When selling the estate property, we were out of the area most of the time and had tenants in the property. Chris and his very able assistant Claire kept us apprised of developments and worked comfortably with us and the tenants to arrange open houses and showings. Chris is an experienced professional with a low-key, but effective approach.
I first contacted Chris in 2012, when I was living in MD and knew that eventually I'd be making a career transition into agriculture and farming and wanted to buy land to start a farm near Burlington VT. He took my husband and I to visit a parcel of land he had listed despite heavy snow, not knowing us and more importantly, not knowing that it would take another 3 years until my husband and I would finally make the jump to move to VT and buy our dream property. During those years we made several trips north and each time scheduled a visit to the greater Burlington area so that we could check out more land and houses. Chris was ALWAYS willing to appease us, ( mostly me) to take us all around to various listings, many of which he had familiarity with having been in the real estate business for so long. His background in Soil Science and extensive knowledge of the different VT towns was tremendously helpful in helping us narrow down applicable places based on what I had envisioned my farm would look like. He has a great sense of humor, and works quickly and diligently on the client's behalf to get you what you want.
As a native of VT and long time real estate agent, Chris Von Trapp is the ideal person to assist you in realizing your dream home
Chris helped me purchase a seasonal home in Quechee VT. We had spent earlier time searching for a year round home but Chris helped me transition my real estate plan to what would turn out to be a better custom plan to fit my needs. Triangulating to find the best proximity to ski facilities, historical attractions, medical facilities, retail centers, major roads and family members that fit my needs was challenging, but Chris guided me to the best spot for me. Having lived outside of the cold north for many years, I found his knowledge of northern construction standards and utilities equipment very helpful. Chris is very personable and responsive and managed the needs of this needy buyer very well
I do not reside in Vermont, where the house I sold is located. Chris did an excellent job in helping me arrange for repairs with various contractors. He and his assistant Claire did a very professional job under some difficult circumstances. He was always on top of everything and we talked often. As a result, I did not have to travel to Vermont. I was very impressed, plus I got a good price for the house
Chris did a great job making our condo stand out from the crowd, getting us multiple offers for our list price within a very short period of time. He was able to negotiate more time from our buyer when we needed more time to find a home in the area we wanted to live in. Great sense of humor. Ability to do all paperwork digitally, very convenient. Worked with our busy schedules. Quick response/communication, even our attorney commented they have never had such an easy time coordinating all documents and information for closing. Very kid/family friendly as well when we had to visit the office with children in tow.
You need and want an honest person to deal with. He won't push you up or down as one should worry about. He's good at knowing the market and how to negotiate a real estate transaction. The other party is always hard to guess where they are coming from or how they will react, but he'll help you through it as a partner, not just someone trying to get the commission. After several transactions, it's clear Chris will be honest in every situation, and that's worth a lot
My wife and I spoke with a few agents from our home in New Orleans via email and phone before asking Chris to represent us. We visited Vermont last February to get an idea of the real estate landscape. We gave Chris a list of what we wanted in a home as well as a couple of particular places we wanted to get inside. Chris took us to all of the places we wanted to see and he added a few more that he thought we would like. He was very patient and never rushed us. He gave us space to talk amongst ourselves and his comments were succinct and right on. Long story short: We ended up purchasing a property before the week was up and Chris saved us thousands of dollars in the negotiation process. I can not stress enough the importance of having a well qualified agent to walk you through the minefield of home buying- and I highly recommend Chris to do just that
He put in personal manpower to make the house comply for safe access. Most realtors would have you pay someone else to do the job.
While the right people to buy may have shown up at just the right time, he made the sale go through smoothly without too much adjustment in price. A price agreement was agreed upon without too much hair pulling.
