Why not clean with a few inexpensive tricks up your sleeve to save time, energy, and maybe a few tears!
Here are a few tricks to shine your house up:
- Denture Cleaners- Cleaners such as Polident will help you clean up the porcelain throne! When your toilet has a ring around it or if a house has been sitting vacant with a little rusty film on it, let a denture cleaner tab soak a few minutes, brush off the grime, and give it a swirl.
2. Dryer Sheets- Fabric softener dryer are a great tool to cut grease. If you are cleaning your kitchen, whether it is baked on grease or above the cabinet area where it gets so dusty and greasy, use a dryer sheet. Soak the sheet in hot water to activate the cleaning agent and just wipe it up.
3. Baby Oil - A fireplace that boast a slate hearth around it can sometimes lose its luster. Take a little baby oil and rub it on the slate and it will shine right up. Do this about once every six months to keep the shine.
4. Baking Soda - Sprinkle some baking soda on your carpet where you may have some pet odor, let sit a few minutes and vacuum it up.
Baking soda will also brighten up your laundry. Add a cup of baking soda to your laundry
5. Lemon peel - Lemons are good for so much!
Remove stains from containers- Squeeze some lemon juice in the container, add some baking soda and rub mixture into the stain. Let sit overnight if needed.
Microwave- Slice a lemon into a bowl of water and microwave for 45 seconds. This will loosen the dried on food in your microwave to allow for easy cleanup.
Garbage disposal - Toss your used lemons in the garbage disposal with peel and it will help keep it smelling fresh.
Grimy cotton socks- Get them white again by boiling the socks in water with a slice of lemon.
6. Distilled White Vinegar
