The Whidbey Island Marathon - April 22, 2018

    Feb 26, 2018

Run for the Day, Stay for the Weekend - April 22, 2018 - Oak Harbor, WA

Every April, Whidbey Island is the home of the annual Whidbey Island Marathon - featuring 26.2 full, 13.1 half, 10K, 5K, & 1K Kids Runs. Taking place the weekend of April 21-22, 2018, the marathon starts at the Deception Pass Bridge and runs down the Island ending in downtown Oak Harbor at either Windjammer Park or Flintstone Park. More info or sign up at: http://runwhidbey.com/

The route for the races takes in some of the most breathtaking views found anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. Whidbey Island is surrounded by water and mountains on all sides so a clear day brings views of the waterways of Puget Sound, including Deception Pass, Saratoga Passage, Penn Cove, and Admiralty Inlet. Across the water you will see mountain views from Vancouver Island and Canada to the north and northwest, Mt Baker & the Cascades to the north and east, Mt Rainier to the south, and the Olympic Mountains to the west and southwest.

For those not racing, the Race Organizers are also looking for volunteers, so if you are interested in helping in any way, contact them at the website: http://runwhidbey.com/ . After the Marathon is over, enjoy all of the great restaurants, shops and parks on Whidbey Island, as well as the beauty of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival taking place on the mainland just 30 minutes away via the Deception Pass Bridge.

Run for a Day, Play for the Weekend on Whidbey Island! We hope to see you here.
