Boca Grande is a small residential community on Gasparilla Island in southwest Florida. Gasparilla Island is part of both Charlotte and Lee counties, while the actual village of Boca Grande, which is home to many seasonal and some year-round residents, is entirely in the Lee County portion of the island. It is part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Boca Grande is known for its historic downtown, sugar sand beaches, blue water and world class fishing. There is a toll to visit this Island and you may end up finding yourself paying for parking to. For those who come here often you will find public parking that will give you access to the beaches without paying. The one side of the island is primarily fishing with limited beaches and the other side is the sandy side for swimming, lounging and fishing. Some not all of the beaches offers Restroom facilities. If you do go for fishing there are fishing piers. As it is also known for the historic downtown shops, art galleries etc.. It is walking distance a beach. (Note depending on which beach) There are several Restarants/Bars on the Island. If you would like to stay more then just the day there is are some inns and Hotels there. I would say you can have an awesome time just by packing a picnic style lunch and just spending it on one of the many beaches. When you are there dont forget to check out Banyon Street, Very nice for pictures with your loved one. The homes here range in style most beachfront, waterview. There are cottages and townhomes as well. One thing for sure is the toll is to pay is cheap considering you will have million dollar views. less

GASPARILLA ISLAND STATE PARK, in my opinion is the least crowded, most peaceful beach I have ever been to. I have visited many beaches on the west coast and most all here in SW Florida. You do have to pay a toll and park fee, however its worth it for the tranquility you will have once you arrive. They have a great restaurant right on the beach, you can just grab a drink or enjoy some great local seafood. Make sure you bring something to put your seashells and shark teeth in, they are plentiful here. They also have a lighthouse and museum that you can tour.
