Easy Thanksgiving Crafts for Your Home
Thanksgiving is nearly here, and for most of us, this is a time to gather with our family and friends to celebrate all we have to be thankful for. Each family is different and each has its own traditions. What sorts of special Thanksgiving traditions does your family enjoy?
There are plenty of ways you can show gratitude, and one includes simple holidays arts and crafts projects. Arts and crafts are perfect DIY ways to show gratitude at thanksgiving, and they can make some wonderful projects for everyone in your family, no matter their age.
One popular Thanksgiving craft project for the entire family is to construct a thankfulness tree. To make a thankfulness tree, all you need is a couple of small tree branches set into a mason jar or a festive vase to serve as a base. Fill the jar or vase with sand or rocks to give it some stability. Next, make tags out of construction paper for everyone to write or draw what he or she is most thankful for.
Now, let everyone tie his or her tag onto the tree. This would make a great tradition for a family to follow every year.
A similar but somewhat easier holiday craft project is the thanksgiving jar. All you need is a jar or container of some sort and slips of paper. Everyone can write what he or she is thankful for on the slips of paper and then drop them into the jar. After (or possibly during) the holiday meal, pass the jar around and take turns reading the slips of paper to share what each person wrote.
Another fun DIY Thanksgiving project is to build a thankfulness chain. Create thin rectangular shaped slips of colorful construction paper and pass them out before the Thanksgiving meal. Then, invite friends and family to write or draw what he or she is thankful for on the strips of paper and share it with the group. Connect each strip together with glue or staples to create a paper link chain. Hang the thankfulness chain for everyone to see.
Not only is this a fun DIY Thanksgiving project, but it also gives you a beautiful multicolored chain expressing the true meaning of thanksgiving.
