OBX Seafood Festival Winner: Noosa Beach Grille

OBX Seafood Festival Winner: Noosa Beach Grille

    Nov 03, 2022

The Outer Banks area is known for both its delicious seafood and fun, family-friendly festivals… so what could be better than combining the two!? The Outer Banks Seafood Festival is a great way for people to try local dishes from some of the Outer Banks’ best restaurants and vote on their favorite. At this year’s annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival, Noosa Beach Grille took the title of “People’s Choice” for the second year in a row!

What is the Outer Banks Seafood Festival?

The annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival occurs every October at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head to celebrate the heritage of the OBX seafood industry. Drawing in thousands each year, visitors can enjoy tasty beverages, fresh seafood, and lots of merchandise from local vendors. Perhaps the biggest event of the festival is the People’s Choice Award competition—that is, the award given for the best dish by one of our local restaurants at the event completely voted on by festival attendees.

Already boasting the winning title from 2021, Noosa was the restaurant to beat in this year’s festival. Prepped to defend their title against nine other local restaurants, they once again were voted as having the best food by the end of the day. So, what did Noosa’s team of talented chefs cook up to grab the attention of festival goers this year? Seafood Bruschetta, BBQ Tacos and Hatteras-Style Clam Chowder—all made in house!

    What is Noosa Beach Grille?

Located at 2003 S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills, Noosa Beach Grille opened its doors on the Outer Banks two years ago and has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors. If the title of “People’s Choice” doesn’t convince you, consider browsing through all the 4.5+-star reviews (there are over 500 between Google, Yelp and Facebook!) boasting about their great meal and wonderful experience. Comments range from “culinary heaven” and “best meal of our stay” to “what a cool restaurant” and “hidden gem.”

With its bright teal and lime green color and its easily recognized retro bus logo, everything about this restaurant says “fun, coastal grill.” In fact, as soon as you step in, you will love all the unique artwork, bright colors and fun lights that create a chill, comfortable atmosphere. But don’t let the word “grille” and laid-back environment fool you… Noosa offers a fine dining experience, serves locally sourced seafood, and prides itself on modern, innovative dishes.

    Noosa Beach Grille Menu

If you’re planning your first visit to Noosa and wondering what to order, we have a few suggestions! Noosa Beach Grille has a very comprehensive menu catering to both surf and turf lovers so there is no wrong choice. There is a separate lunch and dinner menu, and you can also order online for takeout if you don’t feel like dining in.

Try one of their delicious starters as you’re perusing your entrée options—coconut shrimp, buffalo shrimp, tuna bites, calamari, meatballs, and pork belly are just some of the app options. For your main dish, selections range from classics like Chicken Parmesan, Burgers, Fish N Chips and Shrimp N Grits to Soy Ginger Salmon, Seafood Pasta, Fresh Catch Tacos, and a Crab Melt. If you love a crisp restaurant-made salad, add chicken, shrimp, salmon, or the fresh catch to any of the three salad bases (mixed greens, Caesar and beet), then top with a freshly made-in-house dressing. As if that wasn’t enough, there are also rotating lunch and dinner specials like Pork Belly BLT, Shrimp Po Boy, Pan Seared Scallop & Shrimp over Risotto and Blackened Tilefish over tri-colored Couscous. Ask your server or check NBG’s Facebook for their daily specials! If you’re still hungry after your meal, don’t forget to ask for the available dessert selections… did someone say Key Lime Pie!?
