We are very pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Bobby Sanford regarding the wonderful job he did for us in the sale of old home and in the purchase of our new one. We have been asked collectively and individually to write many letters of recommendation in the past, but are most excited about this one. Buying and selling a house can be a very stressful process - even when you've "been there done that" 3 times prior. Not only was he knowledgeable and personable, but he went over and above what we experienced with any other realtor we have worked with in the past. Of course, we know- as Bobby taught us ' you cannot change the location of your house - only the price and the condition (updates). We found his input on recommended changes/updates to our old house to be spot on. We listed our previous home with Bobby in February of this year and closed on a final sale in June - just 4 short months and 3 offers later. This was after our house had been on the market for almost a year without any offers. Immediately after closing, Bobby was hard at work helping us to find our new home. He knew we were empty nesters and this move would be it for us. He worked hard to find out what we wanted including the area in which we wanted to live. He provided us daily with a narrowed-down search of homes that met our specifications. This took a lot of the frustration out of looking and being disappointed as had happened in prior experiences. We found our new home and closed in July. Bobby Sanford was much more that just our realtor, he quickly became our advocate in helping to get work finished that had been promised prior to the closing. When our work schedules would not allow us to be home, Bobby volunteered his time to stay at our house and supervise workers and make sure everything was done and our house was secure. This type of commitment and work ethic is rare in any profession, but especially in any type of sales. He is much more than a realtor - we consider him a friend. The added bonus was the fact that Bobby is a member of Homes for Heroes - an organization that gives back to Veterans, Nurses, EMT's, etc. He also recommended People's Mortgage - which initially financed our home. Because of our Homes for Heroes check, we were able to purchase custom blinds throughout our new home and buy dining room furniture. I'd like to start by telling you our circumstances. In 2010 we returned to my hometown in Illinois after retiring from California. We moved there to help my mom and to bring our daughter to a smaller town atmosphere. Living there was just okay. Definitley not our dream or our dream home. As mom's health worsened it was at a point where all we could do for her was to make her comfrotable. My oldest brother and his wife were accompllishing that. I helped every day but there was only so much I could do for her. All I can say is that dementia is a terrible thing. We have been to Tennessee and it was also an area that would still keep us close enought to other family. We decided it was time to make the move. I heard about Realogy through AARP. They sent me a list and Bobby's name was one of the agents. He called me to introduce himself and I could tell that he was a sincere and caring realtor. I chose to work with Bobby from that moment. We planned our trip and had 4 homes in the area west of Knoxville to look at. On our drive out there and that evening Bobby called to inform us that the first two home were off the market. Our stress level increased, but Bobby assured us that the other homes were nice too and he offered us a home to look at Northeast from Knoxville. On that following morning we met up with Bobby and the first home on our list was not to our liking. Then we went to Rutledge to view the home he picked for us. We loved it. It was very close to Cherokee Lake and view was breath taking. The atmosphoere was so relaxing. This was our dream home and most importatnly, for a damn good price. The rest is history. Bobby stayed on top of things. He was professional throughout and he warmed us up to East Tennessee. We love it here and if Bobby is the example of Tennessee hospitality then I wish all Tennesseeans are like him. He is a great person and a great realtor. Bobby Sanford's name was give to us by relatives who were assisted by him in the purchase of their new home a few years earlier. In our first meeting, Bobby listened to our wants and needs for a new home and discussed the selling process of our existing home.
