    This month we explored two great finds, my picks for the month. Pusadee's Garden has been in existence for around 10 years but closed for about 2 years for a total renovation (slowed down due to COVID). We agreed to consider it a first time attendance since it is a total makeover - restaurant and menu. It is a WOW!! Moss Architects did an amazing job of incorporating the original restaurant and all new addition and courtyard. 

    They did a stunning job!! The design, surface choices, furnishings, wallpaper--just everything is great. Toadflax has created a lush garden that is very creative.

    We started with drinks, Rachael a Boochie Mama ($16) and I a One Steep At a Time ($14). I did not care for Rachael's but mine was smooth and both were nicely garnished.

    We ordered three appetizers. The pork belly with sweet chili garlic was a generous portion and was really tender. ($10)

    The roti - a sweet potato/shredded chicken yellow curry was served with some kind of nice pita chip. It was sweet but very tasty. The dishes were served hot and we had lovely, quick service. ($9)

    The spicy green mango salad was delicious and had a bit of a kick. ($9) If you are looking for a different but nice evening out, Pusadee's Garden will not disappoint.

    Then we headed to Monroeville to Coast & Main, a seafood/steak house located in the Monroeville Mall. It is an upscale restaurant with nice service, a great bar menu and an impressive offering of seafood and steaks. It is an independent restaurant. I had never heard of anyone dining there but decided to give it a try once we read the dessert menu. Their pastry chef is amazing!

    We ordered the Triple Layered Chocolate cake. It was a HUGE slice, dense cake, fabulous creamy chocolate frosting decorated with bit of chocolate decorations that were superb. ($12)

    BUT the fried banana split won the prize! The warm banana is coated in crushed pecans. Three scoops of ice cream--vanilla with strawberry, chocolate and habanero cinnamon ice cream topped with candied pineapple, then adorned with peppered candied bacon and whipped cream. ($12) Oh my goodness is all I can say. Next time it is the bar menu at Coast & Main and a try at a different dessert... maybe the Affogato?
