I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and have been a native of Miami, FL since 1971. My wife and myself share a passion for diving, fishing, and travel. We recently dove "The Great Barrier Reef", in October of 2019; and the Maldives in March of 2020.
Prior to my naval service I attended the University of Miami and minored in marine biology working under the direction of shark biologist Dr. Samuel H. Gruber at the University of Miami's Rosenthal School for Marine and Atmospheric Science. The research project involving the study of shark behavior and training dolphins. I am a military veteran of the United States Navy and during my training in Coronado, CA, became a Navy Seal diver certified by Lt. Peter E. Tonnies at the Phil H.Bucklew Naval Special Warefare Center. I have served in a variety of duty stations in the United States and overseas participated in the Persian Gulf War.
After being honorably discharged I served as a counselor at Boystown of Florida to help dependent children, where as a teenager I attended this facility, which ultimately helped me to develop into a young man and forged my career choices. This vocation to help children led me to the next chapter of my life, helping adults and children in emergency care as a Registered Nurse for 23 years. I currently maintain a Bachelor of Science Degree and active nursing license.
