I have nothing but praise for Mike Eilander (Coldwell Banker) and the way he conducts business. What I really liked is that he is a native of Ankeny and knows the neighborhoods, busy traffic areas for kids, and he listens to your concerns. He never lost patience with us when we continued to look for homes even though we didn't have ours sold yet. He would call about once a month just to see how our selling process was going. We made a list of homes we were looking for and he always added 1-3 extras that he thought would fit into our budget. He never tried to "oversell" a house that he knew we couldn't afford. He made the closing transaction very smooth despite our nervous concerns. Actually, we got more help and tips from Mike than we did from our listing agent. I highly recommend him for your agent. Mike helped us buy our townhome on NW Waterfront Drive in 2014 and was a big help in negotiating the price down for us. He was always prompt to answer our questions and concerns. He saw to a repair that showed up at the inspection that the seller needed to take care of. Also in 2014 he helped us sell a townhome at 3043 SE Turnberry Drive, Ankeny, IA 50021. He was very helpful in advising us as to what upgrades needed to be made to prepare it for sale, but was also honest about what projects would not be particularly helpful . This townhome sold the first day to the first person who looked at it for the full asking price. In 2015 Mike also helped us sell our home on SE Rio Drive. Again he advised us as to what upgrades would be helpful in preparing it for sale. We ended up selling it the first day to the first person who looked at it. There was a bidding war and Mike was excellent in negotiations and we ended up receiving $8300 above asking price. In all three of these transactions Mike always did his homework ahead of time to give us comparable prices of other homes bought or sold recently in the specific neighborhood and prepared a detailed market analysis for us. Mike's knowledge and expertise in the real estate business is excellent. His integrity and honesty is beyond reproach. In our opinion, Mike Eilander is THE BEST realtor around!
