Sarah married her Navy husband in 1992 and began a career in homemaking which led to 6 children born in 3 different states as she and her husband (of 27 years) moved from Florida to Georgia to California to Michigan and finally to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2018. With the last three of their children in tow they transferred with the Department of Homeland Security and relocated to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Shortly after settling in, Sarah was diagnosed with Stage 2 Cancer and spent her first year in Mississippi battling cancer. During that time they were launching their fourth graduate into the US Army. After spending another 6 months recovering from chemotherapy and reflecting on what really defined her as a woman she found that, although she had successfully launched the majority of her children, she hadn't completed her life's mission of serving within her community. She now volunteers for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, helping to raise money for the residents of Jackson County that need financial assistance due to the financial burden that comes from a cancer diagnosis. She also participates in the annual Relay for Life Cancer Walk, serves at the Survivor's Banquet, and willingly engages in public speaking to help inspire, encourage, and uplift others. Sarah is also a member of the LikeMinded Ladies of the Gulf Coast, Gulfport Chapter and has found herself thriving in the company of the many successful business women entrepreneurs. She serves as a Board Liaison for the group and seeks to know every member to ensure satisfaction and foster positive networking. She teaches a weekly bible class for a group of women at church and enjoys her daily hour of walking or biking through her neighborhood, smiling and waving at everyone she passes.
