    A second-generation real estate professional, his father, Dick Sutherland founded Dick Sutherland Realty in 1961, Ricky learned under his father's direction and continues to carry on the relationships Dick Sutherland had spent so much time to develop. With great pride, Ricky will tell you about how it was Dick Sutherland who sold the land to the guys who built one of the largest developments in Jackson County, the Singing River Mall.

    He considers the relationships he has developed and strengthened over the years to be among his greatest assets when working on behalf of his clients. "Not every REALTOR can pick up the phone and call the president of a local bank or a local elected official, but my years of experience and reputation as a professional have allowed me to make these calls and get results for my clients. This ability, along with a great amount of due diligence and negotiation skills, has served my clients well."

    A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Recreation & Administration, Ricky followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Mr. John Engel, who held a prominent position as the City of Pascagoula Public Works Director (John Engel Field, baseball field named after him).

    Ricky Sutherland was an outstanding four-year letterman with and was recognized as one of the best defensive shortstops in school history. He went on to be signed as a free agent and played one season with the Chicago White Sox. In 2012, University of Southern Mississippi inducted Ricky Sutherland into the Hall of Fame.

    Ricky is a Certified Graduate of the Real Estate Institute and attends yearly Industry specific continuing Education classroom courses. As a Senior Investment Advisor, Ricky has completed Course 101 of the Certified Commercial Investment Member - CCIM Institute.

    Family is one of a few things more important to Ricky than real estate. He and his wife Kim have 4 children and 6 grandchildren (and one on the way). Ricky's free time enjoyment is spent with his family, especially watching his grandchildren, future Hall of Famers, playing baseball.
