COLDWELL BANKER® SYSTEM ADDS NINE U.S. FIRMS IN THIRD QUARTER; INTERNATIONAL GROWTH CONTINUES
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Nov. 15, 2007) — Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC announced today that nine brokerage companies joined the Coldwell Banker® System during the third quarter of 2007. Additionally, five existing Coldwell Banker affiliated companies expanded their operations by opening new offices through expansion or merger/acquisitions. Coldwell Banker offices in Malta, Peru and Ecuador also opened during the quarter giving the brand a presence in 45 countries and territories.
Coldwell Banker Dufour Realty in Aiken, S.C., was one of three Southern companies to join the Coldwell Banker system during the third quarter. Broker/owner Steve Dufour spent 15 years in commercial real estate before forming his own company, Dufour & Associates Realty, five years ago to focus on residential home sales. Aiken, a two-hour drive from Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston and Hilton Head and known for its equestrian activities, has grown to a population of more than 26,000.
"We noticed that the many home sales in Aiken were coming from people moving in from the Northeast, Florida and other places," Dufour said. "Our reputation was well-known in town, but we were not getting the business from outside our area. In just a short time since joining Coldwell Banker, we saw immediate referral business pick up. We are also getting calls from people outside the area who know and trust the brand name. We are a small operation, but since we opened officially as Coldwell Banker Dufour Realty, we have seen benefits in the recruiting area and believe we have more opportunity for growth."
