Parsippany, N.J. (Sept. 20, 2012) – Coldwell Banker Heroes, the Coldwell Banker brand’s charitable recognition program, has recorded donations of more than $3.5 million and 28,000 volunteer hours to local charities since it launched in March 2012. Coldwell Banker Heroes tracks the value of goods, services, dollars and time donated to charitable organizations by members of the Coldwell Banker global network.
“Coldwell Banker brokers, agents and employees are incredibly passionate about being an integral part of their communities,” said Budge Huskey, president and chief operating officer, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. “The Heroes program allows us to shine a light on the activity that is taking place within our network and honor so many who are helping their local charitable organizations.”
Huskey cited recent highlights of charitable activities within the Coldwell Banker system:
Coldwell Banker United, Realtors (Houston, Texas) – Owner and CEO of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, Richard Smith; Helen Edwards, president and COO; and Steve Barnes, Houston Division president and COO presented a check to the American Cancer Society for more than $70,000 during the Coldwell Banker brand’s 106th birthday celebration.
The company’s sales agents, Jaime and Randy Connell ,who founded “My Baby Jordan” (MBJ), organized a golf tournament that raised more than $15,000 for SIDS awareness and research in memory of their daughter.
Coldwell Banker Howard Perry Walston, The Jim Allen Group (Raleigh, N.C.) – The Jim Allen Group donated money after every closed transaction to Hospice of Wake County, N.C. and Compassion International. The team has already donated more than $11,000 in 2012.
Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel (Troy, Mich.) – Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel raised $20,000 for the St. Joseph Mercy Oakland neo-natal intensive care unit in Pontiac, Mich. through its third annual charity golf outing.
Coldwell Banker Willis-Smith, Sharon Foster (New Bern, N.C.) – Foster, who captained the Coldwell Banker Willis-Smith Relay for Life team, gathered more than 60 raffle prizes that helped raise $5,000 in honor of their family and friends impacted by cancer.
Coldwell Banker Troy Helman Realtors, Bernice Helman (Terre Haute, Ind.) – As former chair of the United Way of the Wabash Valley, Helman helped to raise more than $1.8 million by organizing various fundraising events for this United Way chapter.
Coldwell Banker system members are able to report their charitable efforts by company, office and individual via a portal on the brand’s intranet site, Coldwell Banker Works. From among all brokers and agents who participate, an annual Coldwell Banker Hero of the Year will be announced beginning in 2013.
