MADISON, N.J., (July 9, 2013) – Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC announced the signing of a master franchise agreement with Franchise Service Dev AG to affiliate and service Coldwell Banker® residential real estate franchises in Switzerland. Switzerland will become the 51st nation with a Coldwell Banker presence.

Franchise Service Dev AG is led by Christian Ammann, a real estate practitioner since 2003.  Ammann first worked in real estate management in Zurich before founding his own brokerage, which he grew to more than 100 agents in 11 offices, then the second largest system in Switzerland, before selling it in 2010. He founded his current company in 2011 with the intent of opening real estate franchises in Germany and Switzerland.

"International growth is one of our key initiatives, and entering into this agreement is a positive step in the brand’s expansion in Central Europe," said Budge Huskey, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC.  "Christian is an impressive business person who has a well-thought out growth strategy for the Coldwell Banker brand in Switzerland and a unique understanding of how franchising with a powerful brand can impact real estate in the country.  The Swiss market is obviously important to us as it bridges our European presence.”

Ammann will focus on building the brand in the nation of eight million, concentrating his efforts in the Zurich area, along with Zug and the Central Switzerland region.

“I have come to recognize the power and the professionalism of the Coldwell Banker brand and the trust it represents to buyers and sellers around the world,” Ammann said.  “I firmly believe that this is the right brand to make an impact in the Swiss market and with the Coldwell Banker Previews International® program we plan to quickly gain a strong share in the luxury space.  Areas around Lake Zurich, Lake Zug and the skiing resorts are hotbeds for European luxury living and having a reputable brand name is critical to reaching these affluent buyers.”
