One of California's largest cities, San Jose has many new homes and has attracted many new residents over the years, despite having fairly high home prices when compared to the rest of the country. According to Neighborhood Scout, the city is very diverse, as many of its residents are of varying backgrounds

Willow Glen
Newcomers to the city looking to buy a home in this neighborhood will find themselves looking at a small community distinct from the rest of the metropolitan area. While close enough that residents find commuting relatively easy, it is somewhat separated by having its own downtown area of shops, restaurants and boutiques. Residents of Willow Glen are commonly couples and families who prefer not to live in the middle of the city's bustle.

The community's homes are largely from the 1920s and 30s, although some remodeled or newer residences can also be found. Situated south of downtown San Jose, the area is considered one of the city's more desirable neighborhoods by many.

Los Gatos
This neighborhood appeals to many who enjoy their recreation outdoors because they can enjoy Vasona Lake County Park's paddleboats and rowboats as well as other outdoor activities. The area offers both a suburban and downtown area which are separated by a highway.
A variety of shops, boutiques and cafes can be found here, as well as older buildings which have been preserved. Additionally there are a number of historical buildings and destination areas. Music venues, performances and other cultural events are frequently held in this area.

Rose Garden
Site of the Municipal Rose Garden, a five-acre park, this area has diverse homes in terms of size and appearance. It is close to a number of businesses and freeways which are vital to the area, making it a hub of sorts, as well as being close to Santa Clara University and the downtown area.

The park is surrounded by residences, whose occupants can easily enjoy its beauty. According to HGTV, a significant number of area residents are passionate about preservation efforts and maintaining the neighborhood. The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum & Planetarium can also be found here, holding a large collection of Egyptian artifacts.
