About Tom Rickert

I was brought up in Alexandria and raised in a Real Estate family. As a child, I was not allowed to answer the phone without getting a name and a number. So, believe me, I know the drill. After graduating from prep school in Vermont I received my degree in Design and Fine Art locally. I have always had a love for houses and I split my time in the 80's between working at Victoria Antiques in Old Town and Tom's Paint Works.

Tom's Paint Works was my own contracting Co and we got the lion's share of our work thru my mothers real estate office. The work of prepping houses for the market was much more lucrative than antiques and the more I did, the better I got. Tom's Paint Works was in high demand, but with the advent of cheaper and cheaper foreign labor in the late 80's I decided to transition from prepping the houses to selling the houses. I already knew tons of agents and had heard all the stories. That was 14 years ago and I have successfully worked as a full time Realtor since that day I started.
