About Nettie Lark
- I am a retired teacher and principal. I was Educator of the Year in 2001. I love working with people and helping them achieve their personal goals in life.
- I am a part-time volunteer with my husband's Marine Corp League here in Charlotte. I have assisted them with their Toys For Tots fund raising efforts and helped to prepare care packages for our soldiers who are stationed in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
- I have found the Charlotte area to be a great place to live. It has professional sports teams, NASCAR, and it is the "cultural mecca" of the Carolinas. 90% of the citizens living here have graduated high school and over 50% have a Bachelor Degree.
- I am a member of Lions International which is a service organization. Before I left New York, my husband and I were written up in The New York Daily News for our work in the community and city.
- I am the founder of two Book Clubs here in Charlotte. I am a self-published author of a children book. My first book was about my oldest grandson, Melle, who lives in Brooklyn, New York. Reading and education are two of my passions in life.
- I enjoy helping people relocate.
- Power walking in the morning is another thing I like to do in the local mall. Exercise is crutial for the mind and body.
