  • A real estate veteran with nearly three decades of experience, prior to forming The Joe Brown Real Estate Group in 2009, Joe was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Bay Area’s largest and most productive real estate brokerage, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Silicon Valley, Monterey Bay and East Bay. In his position, Joe oversaw 28 offices and more than 1,800 Sales Associates. In 2008, under Joe’s leadership, the company accounted for more than $4.5 billion in sales. Joe assumed the position of President and COO in April, 2006. Prior to that, he served as Managing Broker of the company’s San Jose Main and Willow Glen offices.
  • Joe, who has lived and worked in the San Jose area most of his life, began his real estate career in 1980 and earned his Broker’s license in 1986. At that time, he owned his own company, Number One Realtors® – Better Homes and Gardens, with two sales offices, one in Campbell and one in Santa Clara, and a mortgage company. In 1992, Joe was appointed Manager of Contempo Realty’s Willow Glen office. He built the office into one of the most profitable in the company, overseeing 83 sales professionals.
  • Highly regarded as a top recruiter, Joe has been credited several times in his career with bringing in top real estate talent and ultimately expanding his company’s operations. As Manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in San Jose, he expanded his team from 84 Agents to 220 in just four years. Of those recruits, many were ranked among the top 100 Agents in Silicon Valley and remain in the top 100 today. Among his impressive list of sales accolades, in his first 12 months in the business (1980), Joe closed 19 transactions—even during a challenging economic period when interest rates were at 16%. Over the next several years, Joe went on to build a very successful business and became his office’s top producing Agent. In 1988 Joe had his best year ever, closing an impressive 101 transactions.
  • Over the next several years he managed several real estate offices, all while maintaining a successful real estate clientele base. In 2000, Joe and his family relocated to Atascadero to build their dream home. He knew only one person when he arrived there but closed 31 transactions in a 12 month period. Joe returned to the Bay Area after two years and was asked to take on two Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices in San Jose.
  • A notable industry spokesperson, continued success lies in the demand Joe has created both on a local and regional basis, serving as a real estate industry analyst and spokesman for the San Jose Mercury News, Silicon Valley Business Journal, RISMedia and more.
